Surgical Confusion (Part II)
The beautiful festival of lights, Diwali, has now become a festival of noise. Noise to prove what; is still confusing? Definitely cannot be a celebration, because if it was, it should have left a memory, but instead has left the citizens in the capital of India choking under pollution. Does God need so much of noise to prove His / Her presence? Which God has proclaimed ‘Make a Noise’ to prove one’s faith in Him. Even when God would have made the Universe, there would have not been so much noise, which we Humans make to worship Him. Practically every religion is now associated with making a noise. Looks like ‘any religious existence’ cannot be proven without a noise.
In the melee of all the noise and
pollution, Modi declared another surgical attack after Diwali, and this time
the noise was a deafening silence. The nation was stunned as in a matter of few
hours, when Modi declared, high denomination of currency notes of 500 & 1000
Rupees was no longer legal tender. A great commendable move to eradicate black
economy, fake currency from across the border and terrorist funding. Within 24
hours citizens were queued across the country to exchange the currency notes
which was no longer valid, or to deposit the same. Social media was split with
pro Modi and anti Modi views. Social reality was, Indians were regaled to the
street. Jokes on the opposition were definitely hilarious, like Rahul Gandhi
thinking SBI (State Bank of India) meant ‘Swiss Bank of India’. Rahul Gandhi
can think, itself is a joke. One thing for sure was the citizens were made a
joke of, where people who were lining outside BOI (Bank of India), looked like ‘Beggars
of India’. Patriotic social media came with a message of common man saying “I
don’t have black money, but why am I made to suffer”, with a soldier replying
he has no enmity with Pakistan, so why should he die for Indians. If this is a war
against black economy, the target did not hit the ‘real enemy’ who hoards black
money but hit and even cost lives of many of the common average man. Akin to a
soldier on the border firing on his own battalion. Come to think of it, it was
even literally happening, with police beating people queueing up for their own
hard earned money. Even criminals would not be walloped so mercilessly. On the
contrary criminals enjoy great jail facilities in India, to the extent.
Maharashtra state even planning a new VIP prison in Bombay. When did a criminal
become a ‘Very Important Prisoner’? Rahul Gandhi gets summoned to court because
he remarked that the RSS killed Mahatma Gandhi. Will anyone get summoned to
court or be jailed for the amount of people who died in this surgical attack on
Black Economy or will this be considered as a ‘Collateral Damage’ of surgical
war. Collateral damage in war, usually is when majority of the enemy gets
killed and few civilians are effected, unfortunately this war reversed the
casualties, where people who are dying are the common man. Still awaiting to
hear a death of an industrialist or politician or a Pakistani because of
demonetization. However Pakistan continues decapitating our soldiers.
Modi’s move was an excellent move
but bad implementation. It was like a crash test conducted on cars where the
common man is strapped like dummies to see the impact. After that, the rich
will just drive away in the car. Modi is an excellent and a great leader, but in
a wrong party. A party which has alliances with right wing fundamentalist group
as its core (mis)guiding principal. A party which is surgically dividing the
country on sectarian lines, changing history books in schools, gagging media, political
vendetta, deciding food habits on religious context, deciding how divorce
should be exercised within a minority community. So now a Muslim man cannot
divorce by just uttering thrice "Talaq Talaq Talaq". Is Modi estranged or
divorced from his wife is a surgical mystery, for that matter he did not even declare
his marital status when he contested elections. Talks of getting Dawood Ibrahim
back to India is still a myth which we can only enjoy in movies, but what is
mystifying is, why can’t India not get Latit Modi and Vijay Mallya to India
from UK? UK could get out of the European Union much easier than what India is
struggling to get two idiots extricated from UK.
If the intention was genuinely to
target black economy, then it is not a rocket science for the concerned intelligence
and tax authorities to surgically pin point individuals and industries that are
involved, and put the real culprits behind bars, instead it was lining up the
whole country and search for a needle in a haystack. Jewelers made a kill after
the announcement, even today there are traders who exchange the defunct
currency for new currency with a huge commission. Is all this getting
investigated, or is the aim just to ensure the nation is kept surgically frustrated
and scared, with the common man wondering ‘Agli Bar Kiski Sarkar’?
