With you as amongst the most loved and respected TV news anchor in India and that to of amongst the most reputed TV channel, of which you are also the Editor in chief. Needless to mention you being one of my favorite news anchor, and how I await to watch you deliver news and debates.

Then trying hard and been extremely successful in getting the words you wanted out of the panelist. Then with Dr. Subramaniam Swamy on a debate for a topic like this, you can have the cake with icing and eat it too. His views on this subject is ether his way or u take take the highway. He has always been of his self imposed alleged belief that all Indians were once upon a time Hindus. From where did he scavenge this information only God knows. As before Hinduism there were human beings that walked, talked and prayed in this land. Even today there are tribes who don't associate with Hinduism. If all Indians were Hindus then I believe in Darwin's theory of evolution of all human beings evolved from monkeys. So should we continue to behave like them?
You contradicted yourself so bad that if there was a caste system of news anchors you would be on the lowest caste. That's besides a Google search of best news anchors in India does not even feature your name. If AI progresses Google Search would come a response, 'Rahul naam tho suna hi nahi hai.' On hand you kept emphasizing and reiterating that caste system especially untouchability in bad practice in Hindu religion therefore the Dalit community which has been the worst effected should be given reservation. Not once you said this practise should be abolished and treated as a crime and say in 10 years all reservations and caste based benefits be abolished. Like how Sati, child marriages in Hinduism is abolished.
Your weak point of view and weaker argument was if Dalits converts to another religion like Christianity and Islam, they should not get the benefits and reservations. So what you are trying to emphasize and reinforce that Hinduism is a religion with a bad practice of categorizing people on caste levels to the levels where some can be untouchables? Yes Christianity and Islam may not have a caste system but can than that change the social system and social status of the individual? Caste system in Hinduism was based on the work of an individual. So if a person from some mideviel times was priest he was a Brahmin, if a warrior then he is Kshatriya and generations that followed still continue to belong to that caste. That is besides the point there would be Brahmins who are not priests, so would they lose their caste status. Then Kshatriyas who still pride of the warrior ancestory of sword wielding soldiers, and today many who would not know how to use a kitchen knife.
So with Dalits and untouchables so if it is a religion that is keeping them backward what is the government doing? Compensating them to remain in tne low class with reservations and other benefits? What about the ones in the lower class who manage to make it in life, will they give up the low class status to not avail.of the benefits? Will the goverment stop giving them benefits if they come to know they have prospered? So this has nothing to do with religion. If it has then let Sati and child marriages be legalised? Let's not get selective.
Yes Christianity and Islam does not have a caste system. That is in the eyes of their God they are one. They are not discriminated in the places of worship or get killed for drinking water from a community well. This does not mean that their God will make them prosperous and society will still continue to classify humans in races, class, religion and creed and subject the weak or minorities to atrocities. Even the President of India spoke of atrocities against Christians

Even when the Constitution was made, caste system was planned to be abolished after 10 years. Then continued for vote bank politics.

A promise on Friendship day
Friendship days
After over five and half decades my experience of friends
0 to 5 years anything that looked like my size was a friend
5 to 10 years everyone around my age was my friend
10 to 15 friends were hangout buddies
15 to 20 friends were ones who had same vices or virtues
20 to 25 friends changed as their route of life was different to what you took
25 to 30 friends thinned out as it was all about making it life
30 to 35 then it was comparing to where your once upon a time friends were
35 to 45 trying to race to reach where your other successful friends have reached
45 to 50 Realisation dawning that what am I running towards too and not running towards a friend in need
50 to 55 Realising that very few have been friends with you irrespective what you have become
Going forward ensuring I treasure the ones who stood by me and reaching out to the ones I ran past by or tried to run ahead of. Instead of pondering who are my friends, introspecting to who I have been a true friend.
Do regret friends I have lost due to misunderstanding and egos.
So I don't want to wish you a happy friendship day but will try to be source of happiness in your life and thank you for being a source of happiness in my life as a friend.

Feast of St. John Mary Vianney
St John Mary Vianney is the patron Saint of priests. I consider of who I am, what I am, the good in me (if there is any or whatever left) and where I am primarily due to my upbringing by Salesian Priest and Brothers in my Boarding School days.
For me God is something I am still seeking or exploring. But I have experienced God in the priests and brothers in the Boarding. How do I thank them? Many have left the earthly abode. The few I am lucky to be in touch with, it's only words and words all I have to express gratitude.
With the evolution of the Church and even dilution with splinter Churches, the role of a priest is now under challenge and even threat. Vocations to priesthood are decreasing. To make it worse are scams, frauds, sexual involvement of few in the clergy, making the vocations viewed in a bad and shady light
So today don't just wish priests a Happy Feast, be a partner in their journey. Youth today disappear from Church after confirmation only to be back when getting married or dead and needs to be buried. Priests are not marriage ritual performers and extension to an undertaker.
Not many would even welcome the idea if their children want to join the vocation, besides the point not there are many. So is there a solution in today's dark world for the priests to be a light? Definitely if laity was allowed our part in partnering, engaging and decision making in the Church there could be road ahead.
Priests need to realise they are representatives of Christ and their lives are a reflection of what Christ did. For Laity it is should be a reflection that Church is not a refueling station to fuel one self spiritually with a Sunday Mass or visit when planning to get married or wash the sins of our children in baptism or ensure they are administered with Holy Communion and confirmation or have near ones visit to inform priests when we are dead and need to blessed with final rites.
We need to engage, partner and be a part of the Church. Raise our voice of dissent and not just bow to diktats from a white man (or men) in Rome. We are the Church and decisions need to be taken democratically with the involvement of the laity. The priests need to display courage and speak on wrongs within the Church and not just hear my wrongs in confession. So I take this opportunity to wish all the good leaders of priests, the silent workers in the missions or silent workers for the underprivileged, a Happy Feast of St John Mary Vianney. Thank you for nourishing me spiritually.
For the priests living in sin repent or it won't be long before the laity will whip you out of Churches, like how Christ whipped the traders out of the temple.

From one God to another
Manipur carnage, violence and vandalism is no more the major news. Though the flames of burning Churches and homes are still simmering. So the God that resides in a Church is no longer news worthy? Now it is to prove that a place of worship of Muslims was actually a place where a Hindu God resided once. So a Hindu God needs human beings to restore HIS dignity and restore him back to his place?
All the euphoria, expression of pain, condemnation, prayer meets and video uploads by the clergy on the Manipur violence would be doused by media giants. They will now be showcasing the war for their Gods abode fought in court by Hindus and Muslims. The simmering fires in Manipur will never be doused. The actual fires may die but the sectarian targeted families especially children will be burning with haunting memories for a long time to come.
Everyone wants to know why the Prime Minister has not spoken? Has the Pope spoken? Has the Nuncio the ambassador to the Vatican spoken? The Prime Minister will not speak and even if he speaks what is expected to be achieved. The Church leaders and the laity need to have the courage to speak out loud and state vociferously that the community will never vote for a BJP with a Modi or Amit Shah in power or even not vote for BJP or even not vote for a Congress with the Gandhi family at the helm. Even if the community or the clergy don't speak the community are anyways a victim and target. In a city like Mumbai and once upon a time Catholic majority residing area and known as the Queen of the suburbs, Bandra; Church grave land portions were earmarked to be demolished for infrastructure development? Where is the elite group of Christian clergy leaders who felicitated Modi in Kerala? Where are those voices now on Manipur?
Then what is the Catholic Church doing? Collecting money for Pope's expense called Peter's Pence? Does the Pope's office need money from a minority community in India? Why should money from India be funneled to Rome for the white supremacists decide what to send to us? Peter's Pence is a scam which can be googled and so too Vatican Bank scam and needless to mention millions of dollars paid to settle sex court cases of the sexcapes of the clergy. Is this expense Catholics in are made fund from India? Then cheques collected are in the name of 'The Archdiocese of Bombay.' Practically most or all cheques are collected in this name for any other disaster relief. Where is the escrow account to bifurcate the expenses?
Where were all these Indian clergy and other organisations and associations when Nuns were being raped by Bishop Franco Mulakkal? Secret family of Bishop William? Sodomy and sex crimes of the clergy in India? How different is it from the carnage in Manipur? Is it because of the mass numbers of people effected in Manipur? If the parable of lost sheep mentions of the shepherd trying to find the one lost sheep, then these black sheep in the clergy, actually wolves in sheep clothing need to be kicked out, defrocked and ideally stripped naked.
So the government has shifted focus from one God to another God, can the Church atleast focus on the laity who pray to the God they preach. Not just prey on them for lust and their money.
