Children's Day
A day commemorated in honor of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister and allegedly claimed for his love for children. Ignoring theories of his meandering ways of lifestyle or having an illegitimate child or children or being a womaniser, if his love for children was real, then this would have not been the India, we are living in after 74 years of Independence.
Child labor was at the peak post Independence and something that has started getting spoken (repeat spoken not addressed) in recent past. Solely because when International community had talks on the matter. Besides the point no government one walks the talk in the world. In India some politicians. may walk to some memorial of Nehru.
Then with education system skewed in India especially where history is concerned, a lot get commemorated or honored with leaders of the ruling party. So a no brainer that many Institutions and areas and even statues erected of leaders of the Congress Party. Neither is or was any political party better. Normally institutions or places get named after a political party leader's death. Joke is with Modi government, even before he is dead a stadium is named after him. COVID vaccine certificate of all citizens carry his picture.
So commemorating Children's Day in honor of a(ny) leader in India would be an insult to the future of a nation and its children. However Children's Day which we were made to believe was a Global celebration in memory of Nehru, is not. Worldwide Children's Day is celebrated on different dates. So if the world and especially India is really concerned and caring for the children and the future of them and the planet, we need to seriously educate not children but the adults about Population Control.
Projection of Population growth globally is worrying. A planet with limited resources already over exploited. What are we leaving for our children and their future? Global warming and climate change is already showing its devastation all across the world. So you don't have to be in a 3rd world country to face challenges. You could be in the most prosperous and even safest nation, but nature does not discriminate. It just destroys including places of worship where we want to believe God resides.
God resides everywhere in nature and especially in our children. What are we doing for them? Celebrating Children's Day? Many would curse us for bringing them into this world for what we are leaving behind for them.
