Bad Friday

Jesus's death and crucifixion was marked as Good Friday, as HE died for our sins. A death which was preceded with gruesome autrocities of carrying the heavy cross on which he was crucified. Crowned with thorns and made to drink vinegar when he asked for a drink before he died. Despite all this cruelty meted out, he prayed to God to seek forgiveness for those who are committing the crime saying "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do."

Last Friday was a Bad Friday for Catholics in India and for humanity across the world when Bishop Franco Mulakkal was acquitted of his sexual crimes and that too alleged on many Nuns of his own congregation. One of the Nuns who later spoke out of this animal sexual lust of the Bishop, which was later investigated and then was in the courts and on Friday last was the acquittal. A decision which has not only shocked the community but society at large, but raising doubts on how the Church is functioning.

Then is the other side. Why did the Nun keep quiet for years together? Is it a sex story that went bad? Offers or promises made not fulfilled. Either ways one is a crime if it was rape over the years, the other is the morality and vow of chastity sacrificed for sexual favors

The entire sequence of happening post the cry of the Nun for justice is in the Public Domain. One being a press conference call by the Bishop which had high ranking officials and journalists. A conference which to prove his innocence. Or was it is thirty pieces of silver traded like during the time of Christ, was paid to Judas to betray Christ. Was this a price paid to cover a sex crime?

Judas realizing his crime later committed suicide by hanging. Today the Community and citizens at large are hanging their heads in shame. A judicial judgment which has met with an outcry and demands to be probed and is being appealed. Christian community in India is anyways going through challenging times of Churches vandalized and Holy Bibles and statues being destroyed, we have a Judas to make it worse with his evil lust. Where is the outcry from Church leaders on this? Where are marches which protested against the vandalism of Christian Churches? The Nuns who protested when the rape was known were threatened and one of them was Sr. Lucy Kalapura FCC ousted from the congregation, with frivolous charges of having a driving license and a car. Did the Church in India or the Vatican conduct an enquiry?

Is the Church protecting Judas of today to have a Christ who is in a Nun left with no dignity and raped and stripped many a times and left to meet her fate, or did the Nun get lured to the temptation that Christ was subjected too by the Devil to prove he is the son of God. Christ was tempted to prove that he could make bread out of stones to relieve his hunger or to the offer of kingdoms or leap from the pinnacle and rely on angels to save him. What did Bishop Franco Mulakkal tempt the Nun to jump into bed with him?

Will this modern day Judas atone and give himself, as how many pieces of silver is he planning to use protect himself. The community is not as benevolent to say "Forgive him Father for he does not know what he did." They will knock all doors of justice even if the doors of the Church are closed.
