Republic of India
A rape incident which did get the whole country shocked in grief. A crime so gruesome that politics took precedent to justice, as it did shake the government institution to act. Politics reached to even utter lower levels that India is known for. Diktats for women not to carry mobile phones by some communities, to an alleged religious head stating that the victim should have addressed the culprits as bothers, to film industry being held responsible, and the list is endless.
Where are we heading too? Protestors who wanted to protest the crime were beaten and water cannoned in the chilly weather of Delhi, at the same time arson and vandalism by political parties are just looked away. Is this what democracy all about? Was this a first rape incident in India? Statistics reveal a rape every few minutes across India. So why was this rape victim taken to Singapore for treatment? Will future rape victims also get this level of treatment? Is this not rape of faith and judiciary in the country for the thousands of rape victims and their families?
Thousands of soldiers have died manning the border with Pakistan to the latest being the most cruel and inhuman level of barbarism, where a two soldiers heads were decapitated and taken by Pakistan as a trophy. Where are the protestors? Where are environment destroyers with their burning candles? Where are the communities that come to bloodshed if there religious values or religious heads are portrayed in negative light. Here people who protect our lives are killed like an animal game hunt and no one is bothered? Waging a war with Pakistan may have had us even get back Pakistan occupied Kashmir (and even Pakistan) with lesser casualties than what we are losing our soldiers to infiltration by Pakistan across our borders and killing them without provocation. Is this not rape of morale of our soldiers, with our country not acting, on the contrary insulting the defense institution further with peace talks with Pakistan?
Kingfisher Airlines a defaulter of billions of rupees to banking institutions and its employees not being paid for months, but the owner Vijay Mallaya is having a ball. He is busy with Formula racing, horse racing, and woman chasing but the banks will not chase him how petty defaulters of their loans are chased and humiliated, and even anti-social elements hired for loan recovery. Scams are unearthed in every industry, who is being hired to recover the money? When did we ever hear of some billions recovered which were swiped out in corruption? Is this not a rape of the economy of our country?
Education in the country is a mess. Instead of education it is more emphasis on the importance of state language that is priority to knowledge. It is religious influence on education where some political party insists students sings religious hymns like the ‘Gayatri Mantra’. Then another religious group that oppose singing of the National Anthem. Even more shocking is the Police Commissioner of Mumbai, Mr. Satyapal Singh stating English education triggers suicides and murders. How more idiotic and stupid a remark can get, where education is blamed for evils in society. Is this not rape of education?
On the health care front we have a politician who blames cases of dengue to be cause of dieting and food habits. Cases of surgical instruments left inside the patient’s body after surgery, babies being gnawed by rats, accident patients not admitted in hospitals as they may not be able to pay. Quack doctors with fake certifications treating patients whereby health care is more health scare. Is this not rape of the health of the people?
Interesting was to know of a law that is being planned to punish rapists to be named after the recent rape victim which died in a hospital in Singapore. Will laws in future be named after victims who were murdered or cheated or robbed? Roads and bridges get named after politicians and the infrastructure of our country is in the dumps, similarly laws named after victims not improve the law and order of our country. Is this not rape and mockery of the Indian Public?
As we approach the 64th Republic Day of India the question is are we a Republic or Raped Public?

Your anger is understandable but waging war with Pakistan in retaliation is not the solution for the border skirmishes. This will only enhance the pathetic situation of poor common man of both countries.
I agree with Sunny. Now is the time. Wage a war with Pakistan, take over the country and eradicate the Kashmir problem as well as terrorism and infiltration. As far as rape goes, time that the Police meticulously implement the Goonda Act in all sensitive areas like eg. Delhi for the time being. I am sure the results will be seen in just 2 weeks. Will it be done ? that is the question.

Good issues raised Sunny. All important points. But to the deaf in power nothing gets into their thick skulls.
Good article. Hope someone who can make a difference reads it too.

Very good blog.I think things are only getting worse.this regime is hell bent on destroying the constitution.,dividing the nation where the British didnt suceed tgese are trying to. they have infiltrated into the judiciary also.they are trying ti destroy the institutions.law enforcers have become law breakers.niw they are trying to break the backbone of d farmers. Real sorry state of affairs.i hope God touches them and brings about a transformation in them.
Dear Sunny, it's a great article and every valuable friend has commented efficiently with one's utmost ability and wisdom. I appreciate each one of them. But I would like to add here that instead of thinking of waging a war against Pakistan or anyone else, let's first think of the major problem of our country, that's not having a reliable political system in the country. I'm very confident in case we can have an Honest, Reliable and Answerable political alternate, everything will be in order as per the country's need and requirement. Let's first look inside our souls and perform this most important task, which is our responsibility, as well as liability towards Bharatmata or towards our great martyrs, for their supreme sacrifices for the sake of the nation or our sake. Let's make, "SHAHEEDON KE SAPNON KA BHARAT". Hope, as a responsible citizen, you will agree to our own collective responsibility. In case, you have a different opinion or don't agree to my proposal, please pardon me. Regards
Sir it's the blink and go mindset of the citizen that is responsible for this rot.
