A news article highlighted how Political Parties indulge is religious appeasement. Some of these religious groups are the same subjected to the wrath of political parties. Then comes elections and they get showered with promises. Guess everything is fair in love, war and politics?

However in the process of war and love in politics, one community that is left to the mercy of God is the Catholic Community. Neither they are recipients of mercy and help from the Church or the Political System.

Is is high time. Infact no time left, for Catholics to awaken and get into main stream politics. 

Catholics need a Political presence, as you cannot live only on every word that comes from the mouth of God, what the  Church wants us to believe. 

Polarization with religion, sectarian classification are the divisive and appeasement tools that Indian Politics has always functioned ever since Independence.

When was the last appeasement political promises made for Cathollics or Christians. On the contrary we are branded as a religion that is into conversion, through charitable works. The less privileged lured into conversion are also losing their rights of being in a particular caste that receives benefits. Evidence has even proven these converts don't even disclose their religious conversion and continue with their same caste based names to avail benefits. 

In Mumbai city, Catholic concentrated pockets have diminished. Primary reason Catholics as a community lack financial vision or planning. Many who gave up primer properties and settled in the distant suburbs, have realised they have been short changed. The next reason is the exodus of migration, which is good. Then maybe they have been inspired by the Book of exodus in the Bible.

Migration maybe good then what happens to the elderly parents. No one to care for them. All that the children want is the property if they are from the affluent class. 

We need to come on a Political Platform or be victims to a Political system. Don't expect God or the Church or the  Clergy to help. Catholic educational institutions have become business enterprises. Converting normal schools inro International schools where the average Catholic cannot afford to educate their children. Catholic hospitals again business. 

No harm in commercializing and being a religious capitalist entities. Then most of the land these Institutes stand are land that was forcefully taken during colonial times or donated by Catholics or funded by Catholics through the Church. What do Catholics get in return? Holy water sprinkled at baptism, First Holy Communion, a slap during confirmation, final blessings when you are in a last stage of sickness and ending with mud thrown on the coffin when lowered into a grave.

So it is time that the Christian laity awakens and realise that you cannot expect God to help, if you don't want to help yourselves. You will never get reservations in these elite Catholic educational Institutions with free or subsidized fees or health care in Catholic hospitals. These Institutes will have Christian names but no Christian values.

So when you are in-between the devil and the deep blue sea,  one of them being  the Church and the other the Political system, the only choice you have is to get into the Political system and get the change you want, as you cannot change a Church that is controlled by Rome
