Don't provoke David

A week after the Christian community in India celebrated Christmas, came the heart breaking and faith questioning brutal act of vandalism of a missionary Church in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh in India. Faith questioning because which religion promotes, propagates or preaches violence? The violence even did not spare the Police Force who came to stop the vandalism and violence.

What was the allegation? Tribals were being converted to Christianity. So, can a person not convert to another faith in India? Why these attacks on the most peace-loving community in India?  A community which you will find the least number of criminals, fraudsters, thieves, murderers or any crime one can think off. Just because they practice a faith that teaches them to offer the left cheek if someone slaps their right cheek, do they need to be persecuted and subjected to sectarian violence?
Where is the media outrage or support which is normally given for a temple or mosque vandalism? Where is the support of the government or the legal system into taking punitive action? Is the attack communal or politically motivated? No religion provokes or supports violence on another religion, but it is the few leaders in religions who are the rotten apples. To make it worse is the political farming of such apples, where politicians sow the rotten seeds. Allegation of luring people into conversion with food or money, is wrong, illegal, evil and immoral. Then what are politicians doing? Luring people with freebies and fake promises? Then after winning elections shamelessly even defiantly claiming that it was Jhumla (fake promise). So, political conversion with falsehood is right and few evil religious leaders doing it, is vented out on the entire community?

The latest atrocity on the Catholic community is in Bombay, where a portion of Catholic owned graveyard property is planned for demolition for alleged infrastructure work? The city has mushroomed with slums, and all protected as vote banks. Infact even cut off dates for slums which were made till a certain date keeps getting postponed and even legalized. It is not just persecuting the living Christians and not even allowing the dead to rest in peace in their graves!
Christianity is a religion where their God Jesus Christ rose from the dead and walked out of the tomb. The dead Christians may not rise from the dead but don't provoke the David in the living Christians.
Comments:
Well written. how true. The Archdiocese of all states should give a call and protest and build pressure on government machinery

Well penned on such a sensitive issue.

Well written

The most number of schools ,orphanages, hospitals, old age homes, homes for destitute are run by d Christians.this community has contributed the most to our society.these are run by our religious, the priests and nuns and lay missionaries who have devoted their lives to serving humanity irrespective of faith.
Instead of acknowledging and appreciating them, their churches / properties are being vandalized and persecuted.Shame on d ruling govt.who cannot protect them and their places of worship and property. The British divided and ruled so got rid of them. But here the politicians in d name of hindutva are deviding their own people. What do we do with them? If there is peace and cooperation only then can a country prosper. They are destroying d country and its unity. United we stand, Divided we fall.
