Is it Biblical history repeating itself? At the time of Jesus there was a conspiracy to have him crucified. The matter was handed over to Pontius Pilate who found no fault in Jesus. He had to give into the majority of evil forces. To the extent he even offered to save Jesus life instead of a criminal Barabus. The crowds, who were the majority preferred Jesus crucified and Barabus released.

What is happening now is something similar with a twist. Here it is not the majority seeking the Christians be crucified. It is the very leaders and clergy of the Church not uttering a word on the genocide of Christians in India, when they were called for a Christmas meeting with the Prime Minsiter, Modi. Violence on Christians, attacks on Church properties and clergy in rural areas is on the increase. Are these leaders and clergy of the Church okay with the crucification of the Christians? 

What 40 pieces of carrot did Modi offer in assurance of the safety of the Christian community? Why are they selling the laity to be crucified, praising Modi at the meeting and even showing pleasure and satisfaction after the meeting? Thank God during Jesus time, there was only one Judas. Today it is more of Judas in the clergy and a microscopic few true disciples of Christ as clergy. One of the names in the recent past that comes to mind is Fr. Stan Swamy, who was killed by the system and there was a silent clergy and leaders of the Church in India. It was more of the laity that raised their feeble voices. Feeble being a minority. 

Then the system with a dictatorial government persecuting Christians is understandable. Then the Church itself is silent to clergy raping Nuns, children sodomised and sexually abused. Cardinal Oswald Gracias who is a very senior leader of the Catholic Church in India and also in the Vatican has Police FIR investigations against him. So were there some or many like him who went out of fear of the authorities hounding them on such cases? Like how Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax officials are let loose on opposition political leaders? So opposition political leaders who joined the current government were absolved of all their crimes and thus this government got the moniker 'Washing Machine Government.' So is it a Baptism font or pond Government, where there Church leaders could go and get the sins washed?

Were they given a message, before the cock crows around next elections, betray your laity many times.
