Shepherds of the laity?
Three wise men who came to pay respects to baby Jesus were guided by a star. These wise men got a dream not to take the same path they came from. As King Herad who met the three wise men on their way to meet Jesus, were told to tell him where was Jesus born, so he could have Jesus killed.
Today our wise clergy men are they waiting for a dream. Can they not see the danger creeping in? Are they under the impression that Christians could mark the doors with the blood of a lamb and be saved?

Is it that the government will give the community gold, incense and myrrh? Or is it that Government has other intentions? Few of our wise clergy men did have a meeting with the Prime Minister during the festive season of Christmas last. What was the purpose? Was it a King Herod plan? Why were the clergy playing Nero fiddling, when Manipur was burning and yet they go and meet the Prime Minsiter and not ask him questions?

Nuns and Priests are warned against wearing their habit and cassocks! What next? We are dictated what to eat, what are religious should wear and forced to have Hindu Bhajans and picture of Goddess Saraswati displayed?
What is our clergy doing? When will they realise that it is time to groom the laity and encourage them into governance? When will they laity realise that it is time not just to pray but also play an active part in social matters and be a part of the system in politics. Only pray can lead you to be prey like what is happening today. Time the clergy in India awakens to the need of them being in politics and not waiting for an approval from Rome. As India is not Rome where the white men who dictate us are living a life of luxury and here in India the laity and clergy are living in fear and misery
Time the clergy be shepherds to the laity towards their social well being and safety and not just religious and spiritual well being. And not being shepherds watching their sheep being slaughtered, by a Dictatorial Political system?

All this will stop when we quit identifying ourselves by religions (which is predominantly an accident of birth). But we lack such courage and thus enable others to use our fear for their gain.

In the present situation in India, the whole Church is gearing up to defend democracy. The Bombay Catholic Sabha is taking the lead, with much support from the priests and religious of the State. The present campaign is to get all our people and others we are in contact with, to register to vote. We must also spread consciousness of what is happening in India. The Supreme Court's judgement on the Electoral Bonds must be widely disseminated. We need a regime change!

The clergy are religious leaders, they are not spiritual leaders. Religious leaders have to manage the powers to be so that they do not loose there powers & influence over
the people of which they greatly benefit. They will sell there souls for 30 piece of silver.

Didn't find a provision to mention my name and didn't want to be anonymous.
Very true I feel the community needs to join the mainstream politics and raise and make points on issues concerning them. I find it very less represented.
It's high time they shouldn't just wait for Vatican to come forward to save them everytime they need help as you rightly mentioned that Rome isn't in India. The ground reality needs to be addressed on the ground and politically, of course.
If not you just need to live the life of shepherds watching the sheep's getting butchered every minute

Shame on Cardinal Oswald Gracious who is the Head of the Catholic Church in India.
The full World can see the Persecuted Manipuries. What is he trying to Prove?
Is the Cardinal Blind?
How can he make such Rubbish statement?
By saying it's a Tribal conflict.
If this is a clash between Two Tribes then why did he ask the Catholic Community in India for a Second Collection to be made for the people of Manipuri? What is his Hidden agenda?
He should come out clear on this subject?
He does not give aid to deserving Catholics in Mumbai. Spends crores of Rs on his lawyers to fight false Sodomised cases.
*And now he wants Catholics from all over India to contribute for what he says is Tribal conflict*
Cardinal Oswald Gracious is an outdated man as of today. He can't differentiate what is right and wrong. *All he wants is only Money and the Power that comes with it.*
It's high time he Retires and give the new generation Bishops who are better Qualified than him an opportunity to take care of the Catholic Community at large.
