Dedications

Catholic missionaries were the religious body that helped to shape education and health care in India. Shaped with humanity of reaching it to remote of remotest places, building schools and medical care facilities. One of the best examples is the Missionaries of Charity caring for the poorest strata of society. The founder Mother Theresa known as the Saint of the Gutter. Then there was Fr. Stan Swamy martyred for his fighting for the rights of the tribals. 

This in no way is white washing atrocities done by Christian missionaries. Like in all religions, there is a history of dark, cruel, inhuman and dirty levels of evil, corruption and even conversions. If Hinduism and Buddhism could spread far into the far east, it was conversion. Like Buddhism is known to be a religion that expanded, flourished without firing a single bullet.

The recent arrest of Nuns, Preethi Merry and Vandana Francis allegedly involved in human trafficking was mob injustice. The threats meted out to them which is viral on social media, is not justice? Their bail denied? Subjected to inhuman behavior by an alleged religious outfit? Arrested before proven guilty? Where is the rule of the land? Or is the land ruled by religious majority or muscle power?

Where is the Vatican? Are they only concerned with the collection of Peter's Pence? Where are Christian religious leaders in India? Where is their bravery to speak out? Or are they only to preach of the bravery of Christ and his crucification? Where are the elite intellect those educated from Catholic schools, convents and colleges? Are the qualifications only to show pride of the institutions they graduated from?

Let the Christian community be not fooled by the clergy to only pray. Its time the laity prays and plays a part to ensuring justice. The act of the Nuns need to be investigated. Definitely not like the way it is being done? As their act could have not been a Sister Act for a sinister pact?
