In which pot is your hand this Janmashtami?

May this Janmashtami be a reminder to check in which pot your hand lies.

May your hand be in a pot that serves, not one that steals.

A pot you keep filling for the needy, not one you hoard to multiply your own wealth.

A pot that is clean, not stained with corruption.

A pot where no one needs to be a clever crow just to get water.

A pot of justice that does not justify selling unhealthy food.

A pot of justice that is not sold only to those who can butter it and buy it with wealth and power.

A pot that serves humanity, not one where those who speak against injustice are branded as cockroaches.

A pot of business opportunities not reserved for one or two greedy individuals, but one that shares natural and basic resources equally.

A pot not strung so high that only those with corrupt political patronage can reach it.

And finally, break the pot if it is breaking the country with divisive politics of religion, caste, language and the food you eat.

May you have an enlightened, holy and happy Janmashtami.
